The H253 Seafurl 5 sets a new standard in furling systems. Designed for blue water and coastal sailing and engineered for the most formidable conditions. It features Hood's previously patented independent tack and head-swivel system for improved sail shape while reefing.

Another significant additional improvement over previous furlers was to make it more easily installed by the owner. No longer is it necessary to cut the headstay and install a Noresman fitting to the adjuster. The Sea Furl 5 fits over the exiting turnbuckle, which is easier and reduces cost. Bearings are stainless and Torlon in a spherical race, which allows almost 360 degrees contact. The split drum is now an attractive and durable polished stainless steel. Plastic clamps hold the fasteners captive.

Note: System fits over existing headstays with swage stud-style turnbuckles. Some marine eye or mechanical fittings may require removal or re-installation.
